This role is challenging – both in terms of pace, and the range of knowledge required, and the ability to stay calm under pressure will be key to success. Attention to detail is also important as complex processes/issues will often need to be worked through to ensure procedures are followed correctly and clients remain well informed and happy. Resilience is a must, as occasionally things may not go to plan! Our friendly team of 15+ staff will offer support and training to the successful candidate, but individuals should also be confident to take responsibility for their own learning and development.

The hours of work will be 16 per week – each weekend day working an 8 hour shift between the hours of 8.00am and 8.00pm, plus bank holidays on a rota basis. There will also be the possibility of overtime during peak holidays.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have previous veterinary reception experience, but any candidates who have a strong customer facing/reception background and can demonstrate the other skills and qualities required for this role will be considered.

Client Accounts Administrator
Abington based, 25 hours per week (flexible pattern), £10 per hour
Abington Park Veterinary Group has 3 surgeries across the Northampton area, and provide both 1st Opinion and Referral veterinary services to local clients and those from surrounding areas.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Client Accounts Administrator to join our Financial Administration team. In conjunction with the General Manager, your responsibility will be to ensure that the level of client debt is kept to a minimum through effective management and liaison with clients and, when appropriate, external providers.
In addition to a high level of accounting skill and excellent attention to detail, you must possess exceptional communication skills to enable you to effectively liaise with clients to agree a resolution to their debt. This will not always be easy, so as an individual you must be professional, assertive and resilient on a daily basis! A large part of your role will be internal liaison, working closely with our insurance team, clinical staff and reception to ensure that accurate records are maintained and you have all the necessary information to have a productive discussion with the client.
The successful applicants must be well organised, numerate, have excellent communication skills, and be able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy. They will also be IT literate, confident users of Microsoft Office programmes and experienced in using a client database.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have previous veterinary experience, but any candidates who have a strong client accounts background and can demonstrate the other skills and qualities required for this role will be considered. Full training will be given.

Registered Veterinary Nurse
40 hrs per week average, salary £19k – £21k per annum (dependent on experience)

Our dedicated and professional teams at our busy 1st opinion and referral practices within Abington Park Veterinary Group are committed to delivering service excellence. Work will shortly to begin to extend our existing Moulton site enabling us to offer advanced imaging along with our medical and surgical referral service, so it is an exciting time to come on board.
This position is working Monday – Friday on a 9-week rolling rota (a mixture of early and late shifts) which includes 1 week of nights (Monday – Thursday). On call/bank holiday working on a rota basis.
The preferred candidate will be a committed, enthusiastic, and hard-working RVN who is a strong team players and keen to improve their nursing skills. This position includes emergency work, critical care nursing and the opportunity to assist in a range of advanced surgical and medical procedures, such as MRI/CT scanning, advanced orthopaedics, specialist nursing and nurse clinics.
A full driving licence is needed as you may be required to drive the practice ambulance to collect animals. Applicants should also be fit enough to cope with the physical demands of the role – lifting/restraining animals and cleaning.
